Hello! Nick Stewart here, let me tell you a little bit about my family.
It all started when my wife (Kelsie Stewart) contacted me the summer of our senior year of high school. She was having trouble with a colt that she was making into a head horse. Long story short… I helped her with the colt and she turned some off of my bay horse (Rusty) that I had just finished on the head side and LOVE was in the AIR. True love had been met, we dated for about 3 years and were happily married on the 25th of August 2018! 5 weeks prior to our “I do day” I was in Douglas, Wyoming completing my Master Certification at Ken McNabb Horsemanship 3 week program. While there, I was offered a job to come work for Ken in Wyoming. Quickly, I made a phone call home and asked my lovely fiancé if she would like to get married as soon as I get back and move our entire lives 1500 miles North. After she said yes, (with little to no hesitation) we were married and Wyoming bound after a 3 day honeymoon in San Antonio, TX. We love to share our stories of our fun times in the mountains of Wyoming, training horses, starting colts, learning the respects of being good cattleman and of course, always having fun like good cowboys do! After a short 2 years, God called us back home to the Texas Hill Country (Henly, TX) where we found out we were expecting our daughter Madilyn Mae Stewart, two weeks after the move home! There, I began managing a high fence game ranch and we worked there for about 2~1/2 years. It was a special time for us, becoming first time parents along with my first manager position and I was training outside horses for the extra bucks.
It has always been a dream of Kelsie and I’s to have our own horse training company and to do it full time was the goal. It’s not just what we do, it is who we are, our entire relationship has been built around our love for horses and progressing in our horsemanship along with all the ups and downs of life. My parents now own a track of land originally purchased by my great grandfather in Marble Falls, TX. Here in Marble Falls, I grew up hunting and learning the ins and outs of feeding cattle with my Dad and great grandad who lived to his mid 90's! My parents marked out a piece of land Kelsie and I could build on and we did not hesitate on the opportunity to start Stewart Ridge Ranch Horses!
